Are you ready?!

Disclaimer: I received free entry to the Delaware Marathon as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out to review, find, and write race reviews! I’m wicked excited to be returning to the Delaware Marathon Running Festival this year on April 28, 2019! I ran the relay back in 2014 and the half in 2017, where I PRed! Here is my race recap of the half in 2017 if you’re interested. You can find my race results from 2017 on Athlinks, which is a free-of-charge social networking website aimed at … Continue reading Are you ready?!

I’m overjoyed to report that I completed the 2017 Rehoboth Beach Marathon on Saturday, December 2. My amazing husband, Tom, drove an hour to pick up my race packet and goodie bag for me this year on Friday, since I had to work a full day. I didn’t want to grab my race packet the day of the race, since I’m always frazzled to begin with before race day. I wrote a permission letter for Tom to pick up my bib in which I praised the race volunteers, and Linda Chi loved it so much that she read it out … Continue reading RACE RECAP: 2017 REHOBOTH BEACH MARATHON

Epic Un-Fail

Hi, all, It breaks my heart into tiny little fragments to even write this post. It’s like the elephant in the room for me, but I just want to get it out there in case anyone asks/is wondering.  I’m not going to the Marine Corps Marathon 2016. . .for several reasons that might not even matter at this point. I need to come to terms with this though, so here goes. . . 1.) I’m so very grateful that I reached my $1,000 fundraising goal for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who … Continue reading Epic Un-Fail

Marathon Training: Day 60

I ran 3 treadmill miles today. I listened to another episode of the Conscious Runner, and I’m really liking it so far. There’s also a new Runner Girls Podcast episode this week, which I’m wicked psyched about. The Angry Toddler is still sick (with a nasty cough), and hubs is also sick. I’m praying I don’t get it, but they’ve both been sick for quite some time, so  I think I would’ve gotten it by now?! Continue reading Marathon Training: Day 60

Marathon Training: Day 59

Happy Monday and happy October! I didn’t run this weekend (gee, what a surprise), but partially because it was raining and crappy and also because I wanted to take care of a sick Angry Toddler. It was 71 degrees for my run this afternoon, but it was breezy and sunny, which was a great combo. I started listening to a new podcast called The Conscious Runner Podcast by Lisa Hamilton. Episode 1 has a really low production value, but I really liked the guest that Lisa interviewed—Andrea Owen. She wrote a book that I’d love to pick up called 52 Ways … Continue reading Marathon Training: Day 59

Marathon Training: Days 56–58

Since Tuesday (9/27) I’ve gotten in three more runs (4 miles, 4 miles, 3 miles) to make my September total 75 miles. It’s not bad, not my best, but I’ll take it! I’m also over the moon excited that I reached my $1K goal toward Team Momentum and the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Marine Corps Marathon in October. Thank you so very much again to everyone who donated. I raised that amount purely through social media, two e-mails, and a few mailed letters. Woo hoo! I’ve also been picked to be a Brooks tester, so my shoes should arrive in … Continue reading Marathon Training: Days 56–58

Marathon Training: Days 52–55

So sorry that I haven’t updated y’all since last Wednesday! Since then, I’ve completed four runs. I’ll most likely hit 75 miles for the month like I did last month, which I’m disappointed about. This weekend we went to Milburn Orchards in Elkton, MD, and the Angry Toddler had a blast with her second cousin! I’ve been listening to a new podcast called Welcome to Night Vale, which is hilarious. I honestly didn’t know it was a comedy, because the description on the site says this: A twice-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of … Continue reading Marathon Training: Days 52–55
