I’m excited that my June race schedule is starting to fill up! I’ll be participating in the virtual 2020 Global 24-Hour Relay. This virtual race piqued my interest because it’s unique, random (keep reading!), and I always love running on Global Running Day.

Here’s how it will work:

  • You’ll be assigned to a team. Each team has 48 members, and you can choose your team based on location, running group, or even start your own by emailing global24hourrelay@gmail.com.
  • Your team will run from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on June 3 by taking turns virtually handing off a baton every 30 minutes.
  • It’s like a telephone chain, where you’ll receive a message from your teammate who just finished to let you know to start your 30 minutes of activity.
  • Run or walk your leg, and send a message to the next runner on your team to start his or her turn.

The thought of being picked to run at 2 a.m. literally makes me laugh. I’ve never raced an overnight relay before, so this count by my chance!

And how cool is this?! Participants will be entered to win prizes from the following brands:

All participants will receive a medal and t-shirt, which will be mailed out at the end of June. I think it’s time that I get an additional medal rack soon, because my current one is overflowing. Do you have one that you absolutely adore? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

So register here today, and follow the race on social here:

Run on,
