Race weekend is finally here for the Mushroom Cap Half Marathon and Relay event! Online registration is now closed, so I hope you’ve registered and are gearing up for an amazing weekend!
I unfortunately can’t attend in person, but if I were there, here are my top five reasons why I’d be wicked excited (and why I have huge FOMO right now):
- The Swag: The love-sleeve zip up looks AH-mazing!
- Sunrise Yoga: There will be 30-minute sunrise yoga at 6:45 a.m. indoors at Braeloch Brewing on race day! 🧘🏽♀️ That sounds like the perfect way to get in the right head space for a race.
- Finish Line Festival: According to the race site, this family-friendly event will start at 9 a.m. and last all day. There will be vendors, family-friendly games, a kids area, live bands, and plenty of food and beer. Runners and volunteers receive 1 complementary drink ticket courtesy of Braeloch Brewing.
- Distance Options: If running a half marathon isn’t your jam, this race series offers a 1-miler or a half marathon relay option! Those hills look killer, so the shorter distances are appreciated. You can even join what they call a Tribe, which consists of half marathon distance runners. You get perks for being in a Tribe, such as a group discount, private porta-potties, and VIP parking!
- Cash Prizes:
—If you run a new course record, you can win $500 in cash!
—The top overall male and female runners win $200 cash and $75 Philadelphia Runner gift cards!
—The top masters male and female runners win a $75 Philadelphia Runner gift card.
—A $50 Sovana gift card will be awarded to the fastest team in each category.
—A $75 Creamery gift card will be awarded to the following top three Tribes!
Don’t forget to check out why one of my fellow Delaware running friends love this race too!
