Are You a Lover or a Hater?

Have you ever noticed that people generally fall into two camps—you either love something or you hate it with a passion? For example, you may be a PSL sipper or a vehement hater, depending on your tastes. (I’m on one side, while hubs is definitely on the other—can you guess which is which?!) Or you either love putting out your fall decorations in September or wait until October 30 at the last minute. (Thankfully we both agree that it’s totally socially acceptable to put up Halloween decorations STAT.)

Me? I personally used to be in the non-straw-user brigade. I didn’t see a need for straws, and I never used them in restaurants and especially not at home. My mom, on the other hand, is a straw lover for life. #straws4life

She has used straws as far back as I can remember. She won’t drink a beverage unless she has a straw. She even admitted sheepishly once that she’ll likely stockpile plastic straws soon, since she doesn’t seem to spy many of them sold in stores anymore. I wouldn’t go to that extreme, but since I’ve stepped over the Straw Side, I’ve discovered several different straw options.

For a while, the craze was metal straws. I didn’t like the idea of metal clinking against my teeth, and they didn’t come in awesome colors from what I could tell when they first arrived on the scene. So when I was given the opportunity to test out Go Sili reusable, silicone straws as a BibRave Pro, I said a resounding HECK YEAH!

This is Dipper’s HECK YEAH face!

What Sold Me?

What sold me on Go Sili is the fact that they

  • are dishwasher safe;
  • are BPA, BPS, PVC, lead, and phthalate free;
  • are made of silicone (which is nearly indestructible, contains no petroleum products, and can even be recycled);
  • come in a variety of colors (think ombre);
  • come in three different sizes (regular, extra wide, and extra long); and
  • they have a slew of other neat products for toddler feeding, food storage, and cups/lids.

What Do You Need?

You never know what you need until you have it, right? I have no idea that I needed a long straw or a wider straw, for example, but somehow Go Sili fit those needs. I have to giggle, because I didn’t realize that the extra-wide option was good for smoothies. I was slurping water in two seconds flat, wondering why I was drinking so quickly. Duh, I was using the extra-wide straw.

I also didn’t know that I needed a cute travel case for my straw, but Go Sili helped me see the light! Now I can take my straws anywhere—in my purse, in my daughter’s backpack on the weekend, in the car, and to the park.
