See the smile on my face? That’s because I just recently discovered the most incredible sports bra known to womankind—Handful’s The Closer bra.

I’ve never worn a front-clasp bra before, because I thought it would create too much bulk in the front or be difficult to close. UNTRUE whispers The Closer to my sweaty boobs, as I try to weasel my way out of my five-plus-years-old, bargain sports bra. I legitimately haven’t purchased a sports bra on my own in years. YEARS.

I’ll think nothing of dropping $100+ on running shoes or the incomparable AfterShokz Trekz Air headphones, but for some unforeseen reason I (until now) refused to purchase quality sports bras.

I’m so thankful that I was able to test out The Closer, because it literally opened up a whole new world for me—one that didn’t involve contorting and swearing like a maniac whilst trying to depart my post-run bra.

With its breathable mesh panels, adjustable straps, and Removable Lights Out™ Pads that provide added oomph, I’m supported and comfortable throughout any length run. The bra has washed up well through several cycles, and it’s super simple to clasp and unclasp.

It’s no surprise then that Runner’s World recently featured The Closer in an article that sang its praises. My boobs say THANK YOU!

Even more than bodily support, Handful provides community support for breast cancer patients and survivors. According to Handful’s website, “Survivors undergoing breast reconstruction with expanders can add and subtract pads to suit their ever-changing shape. Pads can be stacked and used as lightweight prosthetics.” In a recent tweet to me, Handful also said, “Plus we give FREE pads for life for the 1 in 8 women getting diagnosed with breast cancer.” How phenomenal is that?! That’s top-notch in my book.

I know it’s a pain in the boobs (get it?!) to whip out a measuring tape (I can never seem to find one in our house), but it’s wicked important to get the right size bra. I remember going to a bachelorette party once at a boutique where they fitted us, and I was way off on my sizing. It turns out I needed a much smaller size around my midsection and a larger cup. Who knew! (They did.) This bra offers immense support for us bustier ladies in the room. No jigglin’ and wigglin’ here!

Can we also talk about shape for a moment? I was resigned to the fact that I’d have uni-boob for days in sports bras. But look at this shape! Screw you, uni-boob! (Might I add that my husband found the design sexy? A sexy sports bra? Heck yeah!)

In terms of fit/feel, I was initially concerned about chafing (mainly due to the zipper), because the chafe monster seems to find me wherever I go. But I’ve had zero issues so far with The Closer. I’m also a big fan of the mesh, because I feel much less restricted and sweaty.

I’m going to wear it at the Rutgers Unite Half Marathon on April 14, so I’ll try to follow up on this post with any updates then. (By the way, you can still use code UNITEBR10 at checkout to save 15% when registering!)

Handful’s The Closer bra gets two boobs UP in my book!
